Giveaway: SOL REPUBLIC + tokidoki Tracks HD on-ear headphones

I often do reviews for kids or family stuff, so I was excited to be asked to review something just for me for a change :) SOL REPUBLIC, makers of awesome, high quality headphones, has partnered with tokidoki, creators of funky, off-beat art, to make two new Tracks HD on-ear headphones that fuse art and music. I was sent a pair of these awesome new headphones to check out. And just in time because I put them to a serious test right out of the box on our spring break trip to Hawaii. 

My first impression was how cool these earphones looked--bright colors, fun and funky designs. In fact, my husband told me that they might be too cool for me ;) But I think they just have some serious attitude.

There were several design features for the headphones which I really liked. I loved that the ear cradles are independent and can can be moved to any point along the band. This means that you can get the perfect fit for each user, from myself to my husband to my 8 year old. I also liked the volume control button on the cord. I haven't had this easy access to volume controls on any of my previous headphones and I thought the convenience of adjusting the sound right on my chest was great, especially since I was holding a baby on my lap during our flights.

I was also impressed with the high quality sound I got from the SOL REPUBLIC headphones. The great fit and the high-quality electronics of the headphones means that the headphones deliver some serious sound. I was very pleased with the sound quality of the headphones, which had a rich, full sound. The sound was even good enough to cancel out a large amount of the airplane noise during our flight!

The only negative I noticed with my headphones was that after wearing them on the long plane flight, I started to have some ear fatigue. But this is the same kind of ear soreness that I have found after prolonged use with other high-end on-ear headphones. And I typically don't wear earphones for 5 hours at a time, so I really don't think this is an issue in general. 

Overall, I was really pleased with everything about my SOL REPUBLIC + tokidoki headphones, from the styling to the sound. And now you get a chance to win a pair of these great earphones!

Our Fast Metabolism Diet MommyParty

After hosting a bunch of fun kid-oriented MommyParties, I was excited about this opportunity to host a mommy-centered party for a change! The food was easy to cook and yummy, too! Since I have to cook for a big family, I'm not sure how well I'll be able to stick to the strict order of phases with the diet. But it sure will be tasty to try. And at least it will give me a bunch of new, healthy recipes to try with my family. And everyone can use being a little healthier, right?
