With two girls in our family, Little Pet Shop is an institution. My daughters love the little animal figurines and were excited when the dolls to accompany the animals were launched. They play with them at least a couple times a week and create all sorts of adventures for their animals. So you can imagine how excited they were when they found out that a brand new Little Pet Shop TV show was premiering. And better yet, we were getting to host a Little Pet Shop premiere viewing party!
The Littlest Pet Shop TV show is a 30 minute show on the HUB network. It chronicles the adventures of a little girl named Blythe who moves with her dad into an apartment above the Littlest Pet Shop, which is a pet day-care for all the cute animals in the show. Blythe discovers that she is able to talk to the animals and discovers their unique personalities. And then the adventures really begin!
The girls at our party were absolutely enthralled by the Little Pet Shop TV show. They couldn't seem to get enough of the adorable little animals. And I have to agree that the animation is really well done. The animals were super-cute and engaging with their big eyes and bright colors. And each animal had so much personality!
As a parent, I like the creativity of the show and appreciate that it encourages imagination. I also like that watching the show stimulated my girls play with their own Littlest Pet Shop figurines; they were creating new stories and pretending that they could talk to the pet, instead of simply making the pets talk to each other like they had in the past. It really added renewed interest and a new dimension to their play. The other fabulous part about the show was the music, which was really well done. It was very upbeat and original music, which had the girls at the party up and dancing! Here are my 6 year old's thoughts about the show: "I liked the Littlest Pet Shop animals. They were so cute! I loved when she found the Littlest Pet Shop animals and then she could talk to them. That would be so cool if I could talk to animals!"
I know we're going to be tuning into the HUB network to see more episode of this adorable new show!
